Mission
The Super Leaders program identifies and trains a team of
students in selected schools to resist the negative
pressures of their home, school and neighborhood
environments. Super Leaders develops these students to be
positive role models and peer leaders in the effort to
prevent substance abuse, violence, teen pregnancy, AIDS,
academic failure and other problems effecting their peers
and younger children. The program also focuses on life
skills and physical fitness initiatives. Overall, the
program prepares our students with the learning tools to
succeed in a changing society. The Super Leaders
Organization Believes That:
-
Excellence is achievable and always worth the
investment.
-
The most effective learning environment is one in which
staff and students are actively engaged and have
ultimate respect for each other.
-
Students must be equipped with life-long learning tools
to succeed in a changing society.
-
Super Leaders have unique talents and perspectives that
contribute to the value of our schools, and they have an
impact on their peers, families, communities and each
other.
-
Leadership comes through time and service.
-
Super Leaders must be determined and focused to keep
their priorities in order.
-
Super Leaders must face life with boldness and press for
the highest value systems.
-
Students can maintain physically fit and nutritionally
sound bodies to compliment their well-conditioned and
healthy minds.
-
Through positive peer pressure – Super leaders become
role models, influencing other students to act and
communicate in a positive and constructive manner.
Support Super Leaders!
Through generous support from private and public donors,
Super Leaders enrolls 300-500 students in the program each
school year, reaching more than 5,000 students through
outreach and student leadership. To continue supporting
current Super Leader students and reach out to additional
middle and high schools in the Washington, DC area, we need
generous support from individuals who believe in the
potential of our youth and organizations that are dedicated
to successful school communities. Please submit your
tax-deductible donation to the address below or contact us
for more information about the way you can play a role in
the success of our 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.
